Get Undressed At ENO

  by Rachel Fox

Ever been to the opera? No, me neither. And according to The English National Opera we aren’t alone.

In an attempt to make opera for accessible for younger audiences The English National Opera have launched their campaign, ‘Get Undressed at ENO’. Fronted by Damon Albarn and Terry Gilliam, ENO want to shake away the preconception of opera being posh, stuffy and expensive, making it have wider appeal with younger audience members who currently may feel alienated by the art form.

In celebration of this, ENO are releasing 100 tickets for their production of Don Giovanni priced at just £25 and relaxing the infamously strict dress code. Alongside this the ticket will entitle holders to a pre-performance chat and post production drinks as well as guaranteeing the best seats in the house- something that would usually set you back about £100.

Suddenly the idea of attending the opera doesn’t feel so alien after all.
